Immunizations
The Paris-Lamar County Health District offers all childhood vaccines as well as some adult vaccines. All vaccines administered in the clinic are received from the Texas Department of Health Pharmacy or pharmaceuticals companies. The vaccine is stored according to guidelines from the vaccine manufacturers and is monitored 7days/week/365days/year. Continuing education is provided throughout the year to keep all of the clinicians up-to-date with changes in the recommended immunization schedule.
Clinic Hours for Immunizations
Monday-Thursday 7AM-11 AM AND 1 PM - 5PM
The Paris-Lamar County Health District is a walk-in clinic but appointments may be scheduled. However, immunizations are not given on the first and last working days of the month so inventory and reports can be completed.
PLEASE CALL (903) 785-4561 for an appointment or for clinic hours, closings, etc.
Cost
Cost for immunizations is $14 per shot for children under the age of 18; however, no child will be turned away for inability to pay for state supplied vaccines. Vaccines may be paid for with cash or personal check. Debit and credit cards are also accepted.
Your child may be eligible for no-cost vaccines through the Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) program. The TVFC is a state-operated program funded with federal and state money to provide no-cost vaccines to eligible children from birth through 18 years of age. Ask your doctor if your child is eligible.
** If your child has insurance coverage, please contact us at 903-785-4561 to determine if your child is eligible to receive immunizations at our facility.

- Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap)
- Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4)

The HPV vaccine is also known as the “cervical cancer vaccine.” It is safe for girls and boys to take.
Older children should get the following vaccinations if they did not receive all recommended doses when younger:
- Hepatitis B series
- Polio series
- Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) series
- Varicella (chickenpox) series – A second catch-up varicella shot is now recommended for children, adolescents, and adults who have previously received one dose.

Imm Trac
What is ImmTrac?
ImmTrac is a free service provided to you by the Texas Department of Health. This service plays an important role in protecting your child from many dangerous diseases . . . illness that could even hurt or kill your child.
ImmTrac works by allowing immunization providers across Texas to record and store the information necessary to correctly identify your child and to track his or her immunization status. This information includes the child's name and address, the name of the parent or guardian, information on the shots given, and who gave them. The Medicaid number is also included in your child is enrolled in the program. Other information, such as the Social Security number may be provided, but that is up to the parent or guardian to decide.
The information in this database is kept very secure and confidential, and made available only to persons authorized by law to see it.
How does ImmTrac work?
When a health-care provider gives your child an immunization, and you consent to registering this information, the statewide immunization registry, known as ImmTrac, is notified. ImmTrac will keep an electronic immunization record on your child. Some information contained in the registry are the child's name, date-of-birth, address, the name of the parent or guardian, information on the shots given, and who gave them. Optional (but very helpful) information stored in ImmTrac is the child's Social Security number and mother's maiden name. This optional information helps prevent duplicate records from being created.
How does ImmTrac protect my child?
Providers authorized to use ImmTrac can see what immunizations your child has already had, even if they were given in another city or country. So when you come in for shots, your child gets only those that he or she needs. This means that your child won't be under-vaccinated and more susceptible to diseases. Your child won't be over-vaccinated either, so he or she does not have to go through any more discomfort than is necessary. ImmTrac can also print out a shot record you can use to get into school or daycare.
Using ImmTrac, immunization providers can remind you to bring your child in for shots that are due, or to notify you about shots that are overdue.
Who has access to the information?
Your privacy is protected. Your child's immunization information is available only to persons authorized by law to see it. Only doctors, schools, childcare centers, and public health providers with ImmTrac-issued identification numbers and passwords may view the information.
How do I register my child?
To register your child for ImmTrac participation you must grant consent in writing by:
- completing and signing the ImmTrac Registration Form offered by the birth registrar during the birth certificate process (newborn children only).
- ask your healthcare provider
Consent is required to be obtained only one time, and is valid until the child becomes 18 years of age, unless the consent is withdrawn in writing.
